Where we cover

This is the main area that we cover.
We sometimes operate in these areas - contact us for more information.

PRS is based in North Bristol, and as such this is our main area of operation. However, we do sometimes take on work further afield; if you would like us to complete some work for you but you are located outside this area, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do whatever we can to help.
Our history

Work started in a small way in 1979, removing crumbling lathe and plaster walls and ceilings from a Victorian house in Bristol, replacing them with plasterboard. Word spread and the work extended to further houses in the terrace, starting inside and then onto the roofs replacing broken tiles and flashing.

Since then, we’ve worked all around Bristol and further afield - Devon and South Wales, for example. We’ve got to know some of our customers so well that they provide our accommodation while we’re working away!

We handle building projects from start to finish - design, planning submission, building regulations, build and finish. Similarly, we deal with all aspects of a home renovation - plans and drawings, colour schemes and selection of materials, right through to the final finish.

We’re familiar with a variety of building styles, ages and construction methods. This is important when working with the customer at design stage - customers want a finished look that complements their home. It’s vital from a practical perspective too. What are the implications of building an extension to a Georgian property with no damp proof course? How do you know if you still have lead water pipes in your Victorian house? We’ll be more than happy to discuss these with you.

The PRS team includes a home computer network specialist, so we also spend time running CAT5 cabling and configuring secure home and small business PC networks, both wired and wireless. We’ve even set up remotely-operated media computers, where the internet, film library and music files are displayed on a wide screen LCD TV, all controlled wirelessly from a laptop computer.

The Handyman business joined us recently. This adds to our range of services, particularly in smaller jobs around the home and garden where the cost of bringing in a building company to put up a shelf, change a tap washer or bring the garden back under control would otherwise be too expensive. The Handyman service provides an ideal, lower cost solution to jobs that the customer doesn’t quite have the confidence to tackle, or simply can’t find the time.
